To feed or not to feed, that is the question....

There are lots of opinions about feeding of our wild bird friends during the warm months. Some folks feel that once warm weather starts, there is enough edible seed & insects available. Others feed year round.

We take a modified approach, using suet and black oil sunflower seed in the cold months, and discontinuing the suet when the insects return.

We always feed some seed year round, so we (and our house cats) can enjoy the birds, but we cut way back in the summer months, when there is a natural abundance of insects and plants going to seed.
