The winter months around the schoolhouse

We are getting ready for our first big snowstorm of the winter. Paul is moving logs into the studio to make a fresh batch of bird feeders, and we are both gathering firewood and bringing it into the studio to keep us warm as we get 4-6" of snow over the next 24 hours. While Paul works on log feeders, I am making some of our popular fly-though log feeders.

For our wild birds on the property, filling seed and suet feeders has become one of my morning rituals. The winter visitors have arrived, so now we're seeing White Crowned Sparrows & Dark Eyed Juncos, as well the usual crew- Cardinals, Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches & others.

Watching the birds each morning is such a peaceful way to start the day.
